Lacrosse Ball Self Soft Tissue Work

This is self soft tissue therapy using a lacrosse ball, or you can also use a tennis ball if you do not have a lacrosse ball. Work the muscles on the inside of your shoulder blade for approximately 30 to 60 seconds. This can be done once or twice per day.

We are going to use a lacrosse ball, or you can also use a tennis ball. Even just a tennis ball and a sock if you are having a hard time getting the ball right where you want it. We are going to work on the shoulder blade muscles, so the rhomboids and levator scapulae. Put the ball right in the soft tissue, do not use this on bone. You are then going to press up against the wall and slowly work the tissue. Do this for 30 seconds to a minute with a good amount of pressure. You can go a little lower, to get the spots inside the shoulder blade. I’ll show you on this muscle chart exactly which muscles I’m talking about so this one’s called the levator scapula,  it goes to the top of your shoulder blade and then there’s a couple muscles as well that go from your spine to your shoulder blade, and these muscles are great to work with one of these lacrosse balls or a tennis ball.
