Registered Massage Therapy in London, Ontario

Muscle tension, chronic pain, stress, and stiffness have a way of accumulating quietly until they become hard to ignore. Registered massage therapy is one of the most effective ways to address what’s happening in the soft tissue, the muscles, tendons, and connective tissue that don’t always respond to other forms of treatment on their own.

At Riverside Chiropractic, registered massage therapy is available on-site through our independent RMTs, each bringing their own specialties and approach to care.

What Is Registered Massage Therapy?

Registered massage therapy involves hands-on techniques applied to the soft tissues of the body to relieve pain, reduce tension, improve circulation, and restore function. In Ontario, registered massage therapists complete rigorous training and must meet the standards set by the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario to use the RMT designation.

This isn’t a spa massage. It’s a regulated health service performed by trained professionals who assess your condition and develop a treatment plan based on what your body actually needs.

What Massage Therapy Can Help With

People come in for massage therapy for all kinds of reasons. Some are dealing with a specific injury or area of pain. Others are managing stress and tension that has built up over time. Some are combining massage with chiropractic care as part of a broader treatment plan.

Common reasons patients seek massage therapy at Riverside include:

  • Muscle tension and tightness
  • Chronic pain in the neck, back, and shoulders
  • Stress and anxiety-related tension
  • Headaches and tension headaches
  • Sports injuries and recovery
  • Postural issues and related discomfort
  • General wellness and maintenance

What to Expect

Each of our RMTs manages their own schedule and patient intake independently. When you book with a therapist at Riverside, you’ll typically start with a brief intake to understand your goals and any areas of concern. Treatment is then tailored to what you need, whether that’s focused work on a specific problem area or a more general approach to overall tension and relaxation.

Sessions are conducted in a private, comfortable treatment space within the clinic. Our therapists take the time to check in throughout the treatment and adjust pressure and technique based on your feedback and comfort level.

If you’re combining massage therapy with chiropractic care, the two can complement each other well. Soft tissue work can help prepare the body for an adjustment, and chiropractic care can address joint restrictions that massage alone can’t fully resolve.
